Founder of Meyers Jewelers

Meyer, a lifelong resident of Columbus, started working for a local downtown jeweler in 1942 when he was 15 years old to help his family during The Great Depression. When he was 17, he volunteered and joined the Navy to represent the USA in World War II. He spent two years in the military and then went back home to Columbus, Ohio and back to work at the same jeweler he had worked for before the war. Twenty years later, Meyer decided to open up his own store in the Great Southern Shopping Center on the South Side of Columbus, and that was the start of Meyers Jewelers.

Jeff started working in the store in 1973 at the age of 13. He went on to college at The Ohio State University and graduated in 1982. After graduation, he began working full-time. Six years later, his brother Scott followed his path and graduated from The Ohio State University before joining the family business which he still, to this day, works at. For both of them, Meyers Jewelers is more than just a job—it has been a large part of their lives. Now, 42 years later, Jeff is still doing what he loves at Meyers Jewelers.

Supporting Staff at Meyers Jewelers

To reflect the passion we have for Meyers Jewelers, we have hired a staff that has the passion and knowledge to complement what we are trying to accomplish. Joining in 1982, Tracy is our longest-tenured employee with 38 years of Meyers experience. Tracy has as much or more knowledge about the jewelry business as anybody. He is a trained Breitling watch specialist and has twice been sent to the Breitling factory in Switzerland for training on everything Breitling.

Our Hearts On Fire specialist is Janet and she has been with Meyers Jewelers for the past 8 years. Janet has been in the Jewelry industry for the last 20 years. Janet is a graduate of The Ohio State University and is a Graduate Gemologist from GIA. With Janet's 20 years of jewelry sales experience she can help you pick that perfect gift no matter the occasion.

Together, the team at Meyers Jewelers boasts over 200 years of jewelry experience. In 2007, we consolidated both of our smaller stores into one large 10,000-square-foot store here in Grove City, which is just a short, eight-minute drive from downtown Columbus. We are one of the leading bridal stores in the Midwest and have a national reputation that is second to none.
